| Q |
My 11 year
old son plays in defence and is struggling to get
a regular place in the school team. He loves playing
but he is not quite good enough in my opinion. He
has attended the half term football courses but it
doesn’t seem to make any difference. What do
you suggest I can do to help him? |
| A |
The Development Programme would
identify his core areas of weakness and highlight
what he is best at doing. Infact it may be best not
to try and spend time improving a weakness but instead
maximising a strength, as being on the verge of the
team means that his coach believes he is good enough
to play but just needs that little bit extra. |

| Q |
I saw your advert and
my mother said to call you but my father says I don’t
need to as I’m playing for an Academy side and
they will look after me. Mum said what do you do for
Academy players? |
| A |
All players within an Academy
should receive exceptional coaching as part of their
team. However, (except under special circumstances)
it is unlikely that you will get a 1 on 1 session
with your coach on a regular basis to work on specific
areas of your game. At the professional level you
will find yourself warming the bench if you’re
not at your best for each game as many players are
waiting for their opportunity to take your place.
Every player has an area of their game that can be
improved. A MAMC Assessment would find yours. |

| Q |
I don’t have access
to a garden at home; do you have a facility I could
bring my son to? |
| A |
We carry out practical sessions
either at your home or at a pre agreed public location.
If you were to contact us with your address information
our local staff will identify a location and we shall
let you know where you can attend your sessions. |

| Q |
I coach a team but don’t know how best
to coach them to defend set pieces. Do you suggest me
getting a coach for a workshop with my back 4 or a having
a consultation? Which is going to make the biggest and
quickest difference to the team? |
| A |
A combination of the 2 is achievable by you attending
and participating with your players within in a workshop.
You can then take the guidance and practical knowledge
with you in to your next training session and future
games. |

| Q |
Do you work with Goalkeepers as you don’t
mention them? |
| A |
We refer to goalkeepers just the same as any other
position within a team and develop bespoke programmes
accordingly. |
